-- Freedom of speech -- * Trump made a comment vaguely expressing that he wants to censor the Internet: ''"We're losing a lot of people because of the internet," Trump said. "We have to see Bill Gates and a lot of different people that really understand what's happening. We have to talk to them about, maybe in certain areas, closing that internet up in some ways. Somebody will say, 'Oh freedom of speech, freedom of speech.' These are foolish people."' He even mocked people that do not want the Internet censored in that statement. The 'areas' he is talking about might be countries, since he has said that he wants to shut off the Internet to certain countries that are terrorist-controlled. * Trump made another vague comment about censorship, this time saying that he wants to 'open up' libel laws: "One of the things I'm going to do if I win, and I hope we do and we're certainly leading. I'm going to open up our libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money. We're going to open up those libel laws. So when The New York Times writes a hit piece which is a total disgrace or when The Washington Post, which is there for other reasons, writes a hit piece, we can sue them and win money instead of having no chance of winning because they're totally protected". -- Foreign policy -- * Trump has said that we need to 'take out' the family members of terrorists: "It's a horrible thing. They're using them as shields. But we're fighting a very politically correct war. And the other thing is with the terrorists, you have to take out their families" "They, they care about their lives. Don't kid yourself. But they say they don't care about their lives. You have to take out their families." He has said that 'take out' means destroy the homes of the terrorists' families: 'We're going to have to do what Israel was doing for a period of time. 'Take out' means you have to wipe out their homes where they came from.' Not as bad as killing them, but still pretty bad. * 'Trump has called for the reintroduction of waterboarding and "a hell of a lot worse than waterboarding"'. * Trump wants to take over oil fields in Iraq that he _thinks_ are owned by ISIS and possibly wants to use ground troops to do it: 'Well you bomb the hell out of them and then you encircle it, and then you go in. And you let Mobil go in, and you let our great oil companies go in. Once you take that oil they have nothing left.' That statement was after O'Reilly asked 'With ground troops?'. * Of course, as implied by the above, Trump wants to continue fighting against ISIS. This is certainly not exclusive to him, though. To be fair, besides the above stuff, Trump seems to be less war-mongering than the usual, or at least not more so. -- Surveillance -- * Trump said 'I want surveillance of certain mosques, O.K.?' Like with much of what Trump has said, this comment is not entirely clear. How would he determine the mosques to spy on? * Trump on Snowden: '"This guy is a bad guy," Trump said. "You know there is still a thing called execution. You really have thousands of people with access to the kind of material like this. We're not going to have a country any longer."' This is also a free speech issue. -- Immigration -- * Trump wants to build a wall between the US and Mexico. I think the borders should probably be open, so I am against this. It would also be expensive, though he claims that he would make Mexico pay for it. * Trump has proposed a temporary ban on Muslims entering the US. He said that he wants to have a 'total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the U.S.'. This is hostile to freedom of religion. -- Economics -- * Trump is a protectionist and supports implementing a tariff against products imported from China: '"I would tax China on products coming in," Mr. Trump said. "I would do a tariff, yes --and they do it to us."'. -- Gun rights -- * Trump did not outright speak against the gun ban for no-fly list members: '"Well, I'd certainly take a look at it. I would," Trump said on CBS' "Face the Nation." "I'm very strong into the whole thing with Second Amendment -- but if you can't fly, and if you've got some really bad -- I would certainly look at that very hard."' This is also a due process issue. -- Miscellaneous -- * Trump is a supporter of eminent domain: '"I think eminent domain for massive projects, for instance you're going to create thousands of jobs and you have somebody that's in the way. Eminent domain, they get a lot of money," Trump said. "And you need a house in a certain location because you're going to build this massive development that's going to employ thousands of people or you're going to build a factory that without this little house, you can't build the factory. I think eminent domain is fine." * Trump said 'I'm fine with affirmative action'.
